This blue on white colored full sheet of 40, 22cent vintage 1980s US postage stamps honors the traditional folk art of lacemaking. The lace shown in the upper left design of these stamps was created by Ruth Maxwell of Dearborn, MI, and is an example of the 'Buck's point' style. The lower left design features a 'mixed technique' applique by Leslie K. Saari of Cadillac, MI, and the mixed technique applique in the upper right design was crafted by Mary McPeek of Ann Arbor, MI. The lower right design features 'Honiton' style lace created by Trenna Ruffner of Grosse Point Park, MI.
These stamps were first issued this blocks of four commemorative stamps in 1987. They were designed by Libby Theil of Bryans Road, MD, based on the creations of four Michigan lacemakers.
All of the these postage stamps are in mint condition (however there may be some wear on the selvage or broken perforations but the stamps are perfect for postage) and you will receive the entire sheet featured in the images of this listing containing a total of 40, 22-cents stamps!
